Sun-drenched

All swollen summer,

humidity dripped my fingers like candlewax,

steamed my breath as if kettled,

simmered my saliva like hotpot.

I didn’t see the sun was sex

(of course the sun is sex!)

until at last we burst out –

orange flood

lighting thirsts of fields as petrol.
